Regular visitors to our salon in Killaloe will know that we are huge fans of the Alfaparf Milano range of hair products. Their range and vitality are simply sublime bringing a uniquely enriching experience both for our stylists and our clients! So when we were invited to attend the ALFAPARF Milano International Event, in beautiful Dubrovnik on the stunning Adriatic coast in Croatia....we didn't really have to think twice. Last night was one of the main events, a glittering hair show featuring a host of top Italian and International hairdressing stars, including Paul Stafford, Mimmo Laserra, and Ramiro Mata, and an after-show party until late at the Culture Club. As you can see from our pictures below,  we have been working all the time and not enjoying ourselves at all! We will be back to work on Thursday and you can be sure you will be hearing all about our totally work-related trip to Dubrovnik. Thank you to our hosts for an absolutely wonderful couple of days! It's Eurovision Semi Final II Night tonight! To mark Brendan Murphy's 'Dying to Win' entry on Tonight's Semi-Final, we decided to go back through the archives to look at...what else...but only the most miraculous* hairstyles of Eurovision. [caption id="attachment_899" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Brendan Murray will represent Ireland at the Eurovision in Kyiv tonight[/caption] * "miraculous" may be a loose term... Jedward - 'Lipstick' (2011) The boys from Clondalkin. High Hair. Interesting Fashion. Lipstick was Ireland's 2011 entry into the Eurovision. Let's move on. [caption id="attachment_900" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Jedward - Lipstick (2011)[/caption] Jamala - '1944' (2016) Jamala successfully represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "1944". With a crown hair braid and set curls, her hair was always going to be a winner as well. [caption id="attachment_906" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Jamala - '1944' (2016)[/caption] Slavko Kalezic - 'Space' (2017) We had no words to describe the miracle that was this helicopter of braided hair swinging around from Tuesday night's Eurovision Semi Final I offering. None. Miraculous does not even cover it. [caption id="attachment_907" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Slavko Kalezic - 'Space' (2017)[/caption] Celine Dion - 'Space' (1988) Yes she really did represent the Swiss in 1988. A shy, 20-year-old Quebecoise with a command of curls was enough to win when Celine Dion opened her mouth and blew the roof off the Point Venue in Dublin. [caption id="attachment_909" align="aligncenter" width="192"] Celine Dion - 'Ne partez pas sans moi' (1988)[/caption] The Original Mr.McDreamy Johnny Logan - 'What's Another Year' (1980) Ah Johnny Logan. What *is* another Year indeed! With that head of hair and those, of their time, leather pants it is no wonder you had a series of miracles in the 1980s! [caption id="attachment_911" align="aligncenter" width="298"] Johnny Logan - 'What's Another Year' (1980)[/caption] Bonus Reference: - Linda Martin - Terminal 3 (1984) While she did not win (She came second), Linda had amazing hair for the occasion. [caption id="attachment_912" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Linda Martin - 'Terminal 3' (1984)[/caption] Check out Brendan's entry on Youtube here!

We love almost every Red Carpet event going at The Greene Room because we get to see our craft in action and keep ahead of trends. However we reserve a special place in our hearts for the Annual Met Gala which takes place on the first Monday of May. This year's theme was "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between" and as ever it was a titillating, extravaganza of colour, drama and sheer volume of fashion! Check out some of our favourite looks below!
